iPhone stolen in Spain: who to call

Short answerFrom another phone or a computer, mark your iPhone as lost at icloud.com/find. Then block your SIM with your network, and call your bank. If you're in danger, call 112 first.

Take a breath, and ask someone to help if you can. We read each number below on an official page on 2 November 2026. Where it's a regulator's or government page rather than the company's own, the note says so. Numbers change, so if one doesn't work, use the official page beside it. Numbers that only work from your own network's phone won't help until you have a SIM again, so look for another way to reach them. Call costs vary.

First steps

  1. Mark your iPhone as lost at icloud.com/find. Here's the full plan.
  2. Block your SIM with your network, so nobody else can receive your login codes. Ask how to get your own codes or a replacement SIM.
  3. Call your banks and e-wallets, and ask them to protect your accounts.
  4. Report it to the police and ask about blocking the phone.

You can also block it in Mi Orange: Productos, Gestionar SIM, Gestiona tu SIM, choose the SIM, Bloquear SIM. Calls from abroad cost whatever your local network charges. A phone block by IMEI covers all Spanish networks and can take more than 2 months to apply or undo, so Orange suggests being sure the phone is gone first.

Report it to the police

If nobody is in danger, you can report the theft at a police station or start online. Online reports are only for thefts without violence or threats, where you don't know who did it and there are no known witnesses. Keep your receipt, because an insurer may ask for it.

You must then sign it in person at the station you chose, within 72 hours. Without that signature the report has no legal value. It can't be used if there was violence or intimidation, if you know who did it, if there are known witnesses, or if the person reporting is a minor.

Block the phone

We found no national service you can use yourself. You ask your own network to block the phone by its IMEI (its 15-digit serial number), and usually you need your police report too. Orange says the block covers all Spanish networks. Blocking the SIM and blocking the phone are separate requests, so ask for both. Blocking the SIM may stop location tracking from working.
