Terms of use
Draft. This will be reviewed by a lawyer and completed before FirstHour launches. The company name, price, governing law and contact details are still to come.
What FirstHour is
FirstHour is an iPhone app that helps you sort your pictures, find ones that show private details, lock things in an encrypted Vault, share covered copies, and prepare a plan in case your phone goes missing.
What FirstHour can't promise
- It can miss things. "Nothing found" means nothing obvious, not "safe". Here's what it can't protect against.
- It isn't an emergency service. In danger, call your local emergency number.
- Hotlines and guides can go out of date. Where we've checked a number on the organization's own website, we show the date, but confirm with the organization itself. Guides are general information, not legal or financial advice.
- It can't stop every kind of harm, such as someone who knows your passcode or has already copied your pictures.
What's up to you
- Your pattern, PIN and recovery phrase. Lose both your way in and your phrase, and nobody can open the Vault, not even FirstHour.
- Your backups. They aren't automatic. Without one, losing your iPhone or deleting FirstHour loses what's in the Vault.
- What you delete. FirstHour or iPhone asks before a picture or anything in the Vault is deleted, but the decision is yours.
- Using it fairly. Use FirstHour on your own iPhone and with your own pictures, and follow the law where you live.
Your content
Your pictures, files and notes stay yours. We don't receive them. Our privacy policy explains the details.
