iPhone stolen in Brazil: who to call

Short answerFrom another phone or a computer, mark your iPhone as lost at icloud.com/find. Then block your SIM with your network, and call your bank. If you're in danger, call 190 first.

Take a breath, and ask someone to help if you can. We read each number below on an official page on 2 November 2026. Where it's a regulator's or government page rather than the company's own, the note says so. Numbers change, so if one doesn't work, use the official page beside it. Numbers that only work from your own network's phone won't help until you have a SIM again, so look for another way to reach them. Call costs vary.

First steps

  1. Mark your iPhone as lost at icloud.com/find. Here's the full plan.
  2. Block your SIM with your network, so nobody else can receive your login codes. Ask how to get your own codes or a replacement SIM.
  3. Call your banks and e-wallets, and ask them to protect your accounts.
  4. Report it to the police and ask about blocking the phone.

Block the phone

Brazil has a national blocklist. When a phone's IMEI (its serial number) is added, every national network gets the update and the phone can't use Brazilian mobile networks. You can do this through the government's Celular Seguro service or by asking your network. Phones with two SIM slots have two IMEIs, and both must be blocked.

WhoWhat to do
Celular Seguro (Ministry of Justice)Send one alert to block your line, phone and accounts at partner banks and companies
Use their official help page.
Use the app or celularseguro.mj.gov.br from another device, signing in with your gov.br account. We found no phone line for it. The Ministry says you can still sign up after a theft, and a trusted person you added earlier can send the alert for you. Recovery mode blocks the line and partner accounts but keeps the IMEI active, so police can trace the phone. Total block also blocks the IMEI. You can't change your choice afterwards, so save the protocol number. It doesn't replace a police report, and undoing a block means visiting your network's official store and contacting each bank.
